WELCOME TO MY CHARACTER PAGE. Mean time, there is no picture but in the near future there will be. Keep on touch.

The five characters Diablo II will feature is the amazon, paladin, sorceress, necromancer, and barbarian. Each character has their own unique abilities, and plenty of them. You won't find many very similar characters, because of the many paths you can specialize in for each one. This section will include information on each character, and other things closely relating to the characters.

Barbarian

Basic Skills Each character comes equipped with three skills, which I call basic skills. These three skills are attack, kick, and throw. Attack is very self-explanatory, it is the basic skill you have selected when you just want to attack. Attack is toggled with the other basic skill, throw, which throws the item you have equipped. They have special potions you can throw, such as exploding and poison, and also weapons, such as javelins, and throwing knives. Kick, the last basic skill simply kicks the target. Kick has little damage, but knocks the target back pretty far, which can be quite useful.

Belt

The belt in Diablo II is very helpful. The belt comes with slots for potions or scrolls, with quick hotkeys to them (numbers 1-0 on your keyboard), and quick buttons to bring up things such as your skill trees, char, quests, and etc. There will be different kinds of belts in Diablo II, your belt is determined by what kind of belt you have equipped, however, you will have four belt slots by default, up to sixteen slots capacity has been seen. Your belt may also give you some extra abilities, like more armor.

1. Health Ball Displays your health level.
2. Attack Method Displays whether you have attack, or throw selected.
3. Stamina bar Displays your stamina level.
4. Experience bar Displays how much experience you have/need for next level.
5. Menu Displays or removes the button menu, just above the belt.
6. Belt Slots Displays your belt slots, and items in them.
7. Skill Displays your selected skill.
8. Health Ball Displays your mana level.

Inventory

The inventory is storage for characters items, and where all equipment is equipped. There are slots for helms, weapons, shields, armor, jewelry, belts, gloves, and boots. The inventory is 4x40 squares, and stores anything that can be picked up. Potions, and some items are stackable, which means you can put more than one in the same square(s), and scrolls are stored in books. Blizzard has developed an auto-equip feature, which automatically places equipment in their proper spot in your inventory, unless that spot is already in use. Gold now is not stacked in your inventory, but does not take up inventory space at all. It is now displayed how much you have in a box at the bottom of the inventory interface. There is an option to drop the gold, and to put it in your stash. Your stash is a chest in town that allows you to put your items in, and only you can access it. Other players may store into the same chest, but when you go to it, only your stash appears.

Character Attribute Screen

The character attribute screen lists all of your characters stats and information. When you get a level up, this is the screen it brings you to, to update and improve your statistics. The four attributes are strength, dexterity, vitality, and energy. Adding points to your strength, also increases your damage. Adding points to dexterity, also increases your attack rating (speed of attack I assume), and defense rating (speed of defense). Vitality increases your hit points (health), and stamina, improving the length you can run. Energy increases your mana amount. You get five points to distribute with each level up. The screen also displays your name, level, character, and exact experience you have, with required experience for next level, which can be useful. Lastly, at the bottom right, your lightning, fire, cold, and poison resistance percentage is displayed.

Skill Trees

Skill trees are a tree of skills, or spells for characters. Each character comes with 30 skills, 10 skills in 3 different trees, not too many characters will be very similar. Skill trees require to to climb the tree to distribute points into other skills, also there is a level requirement for each skill, it goes 1, 6, 12, 18, 24, and 30. Each skill tree, of course, begins with more simple weak skills, and builds up to the stronger more complex ones. Five characters multiplied by thirty skills for each makes a total of one hundred fifty skills! By putting more points into a skill, it will cause that skill to become stronger, and cost less mana. There is no limit to how many points you may put in a skill, but once you get a certain amount of points in a skill, putting more into it will no longer benefit you. There is two skill types, just the regular skill, and passive. Passive skills means you won't have to have the skill selected to benefit from it, like mastery skills, and also does not reduce your mana. You get one skill point for every level up, and also may get them as some quests awards.

Hardcore is a dangerous option in Diablo II, you can only get this option once you have completed the game. If you choose this option, once you die you can never come back, no ressurection, no restart in town, no beginning or joining new games. From then on, if you log on using that character, in channels you will appear with a ghost icon. The catch for this option, is your name appears in read on battle.net (seen at right), and there will be a seperate ladder for hardcore players. There will also be a hall of heroes, for the greatest hardcore characters of all time, which will also remain there even if that character has died. There is no possible way to change from hardcore character once you have selected it.
