Act Three: NPCs, Monsters, and Quests
After you confront the evil in the Horadrim tombs, you open the way for Meshif to transport you to the dockside town of Kurast, in the jungles surrounding the temple of Travincal. It is in this temple that the third Prime Evil, Mephisto, is imprisoned. In times past, the order of Zakarum was tasked with watching over Mephisto. However, it has since been corrupted. Evil has recently managed to grab a hold of the region, so it is not unreasonable to assume that Mephisto is breaking his bonds and usurping the territory.

NPCs
Ormus: He is a mad poet who, between his rantings, offers some vital information about the storyline. He also gives you one of the act's six quests.

Asheara: Asheara is the leader of the Iron Wolves, an order of mercenaries who will become your allies. If you complete a quest for Asheara, he will hire out sorcerers who can join you during act three for some added magical muscle.

Alkor: Alkor is the potion dealer of act three.

Hratli: The armorer of Kurast is Hratli.

Monsters
Fetish:
These small humanoids appear much like the fallen, except they are adapted to the jungle. The fetish are even more numerous than the fallen and are fast and can regenerate wounds, employing hit-and-run tactics with great speed and then running away to heal. The fetish also have shamans, but the shamans are actually two fetish, one standing atop the shoulders of another. The fetish shaman wears a great mask and can heal and resurrect its fellow fetish.

Wraith: The wraith is a noncorporeal ball of light and ghostly bones and rags. These undead apparitions float in the air, moving slowly towards you. If they catch you, they have a lethal attack that drains your mana.

Zealots and priests: The corrupt priests and zealots of Zakarum once were tasked with guarding Mephisto's tomb from evil intent but have since fallen under the dark devil's sway. The zealots are warriors who close for melee attacks, while the priests are spell casters with elemental attacks, such as cold strike, a spell of ice.

Frog Demon: The large creatures in the screenshot are frog demons, but they too are in flux.

Quests
Act three takes place in a jungle, with the temple of Travincal dominating the area. Close by is the dockside town of Kurast. Surrounding the town are jungle wilderness, tombs, tunnels, and caves. There are lots of ruins in the wilderness and also lots of water and swamp on this level. The temple is obviously the location of the main quest, but Blizzard North is surprisingly quiet regarding who exactly is inside the temple awaiting you. The only other quest information Blizzard North could divulge was that the tunnels are also home to a quest.
